The MTP actuator is a low-voltage piezoelectric translator available in a variety of ranges to suit custom applications. Open loop piezoelectric translators are capable of effectively infinite resolution limited only by the noise on the drive voltage. MTP30 can move up to 30μm, and even further with mechanical amplification.

MTPxx can move up to xxμm, and even further with mechanical amplification.
Each actuator is internally pre-loaded to ensure that a high pulling force can be obtained as well as a strong pushing force. Their slewing speed is limited by the drive current of the electronics. Inherent hysteresis of 10% - 15% limits their accuracy when used without sensors.
For ease of installation each MTP actuator has an M3 fixing point at each end which allows a large range of accessories to be used in combination with the actuator.
The MTP series of actuators is also available with Vacuum (VAC) and Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) options.
SDL Queensgate provides a range of driver options suitable for driving these in open loop mode or they can be combined with NanoSensors and closed loop electronics to configure a custom closed loop configuration.
